Shanghai Baosteel Institute is one of the earliest enterprises developing the Cold-rolled Forming Steel Hollow Section in china, and edited 6 national standards for Cold-rolled Forming Hollow Section in the past 40years. The Cold-rolled Forming Section Steel Plant under Baosteel Institute has seven producing lines, and the annual capacity is 300000MT. In 2004, the larger size, higher strength cold-rolled forming producing lines be installed in the steel plant, and the producing line is able to manufacture the Higher-strength Hollow Section: thickness from 4~19mm, width from 350~2000mm, Yield point≧345Mpa, Tensile strength≧700Mpa.
Shanghai Baosteel Institute mainly manufacture the Vibration Damping Steel Sheet, ERW Steel Hollow Section(square, rectangular), Round Steel Pipe, and Channel Steel.
The Vibration Damping Steel Sheet is a formable and weldable sandwich consisting of two steel sheets enclosing a viscoelastic core constrain layer damping, it can be made out of the cold rolled sheet, electro-galvanizing plate, hot-dipped galvanizing plate, stinless steel plate and so on. The letter BVDS stands for Baosteel-Vibration-Damping-Sheet. The BVDS provides two functions, it does not just damp vibration and structure-borne noise, but also replaces existing sheet metal. This means in thant cases, you do not have to add material to damp the structure, and thus save both weight and thickness. It can be widely used in hopper and cover for Industrial machinery, various types of noise-prevention walls, floors, wall etc.
ERW Steel Hollow Section (square, rectangular), Round Steel Pipe, Universal Open-shaped Hollow Section and Channel Steel. For ERW Steel Hollow Section(square, rectangular), the size ranges from 20x20 to 500x500 with thickness from 1.5mm to 16mm; For Round Steel Pipes, we have the size: OD114.3, OD168.3, OD194, and the max. thickness can be 12.5mm. The standard can be JIS G3466, ASTM A500, EN10219 etc, and can also manufacture the products as per the client?s requirements. It can be widely used in Construction, Ship Making, Mechanism, Bus or other fields.
