Since 1990, Canadian company Great's Holdings Co., Ltd. and Japanese company BiddyLeather Products Co., Ltd. have partnered to develop and market a unique line of superior exotic leather products. While Great's Holdings specializes in the design of trendy fashions incorporating the latest styles, BiddyLeather Products focuses its energy in researching high-quality and environmentally-friendly manufacturing techniques using only the finest North American salmon skins.
Together, we have actively engaged in servicing the Chinese and Japanese retail industry, and our clients have consistently found our products to be exceptional in quality as well as value. The success of our businesses has allowed us to expand into the international market with online sales as FineExoticLeather.com, where we can accommodate customers at both the wholesale and retail level.
Transforming simple fish skins into attractive, long-lasting, and resilient products is a long and dedicated process. We believe it to be a form of art as well as our specialty.
The techniques we use to craft our line of salmon leather merchandise have evolved over many years of research and testing. Following our receipt of a shipment of raw materials, the fish skins are first passed through our tanning process. It initially involves de-scaling their surface using a drum and placing them in a de-liming ingredient. Afterwards, the skins are washed in a special organic solution, which prepares them for coloring by removing residual natural oils. Our tanning solution is then applied before we reach the final phases of finishing and polishing.
Typically, the production of these skins requires 7 to 10 days. However, before they are cut and shaped into beautiful wallets, belts, and shoes, they must first be put through our stringent quality assurance methods. Due to our high standards, only about half of the skins are turned over to product development. After careful skin selection, layout, and stitching, the final products are then inspected again before being released.
